Get Fit In The North East This January!

Over Christmas many of us will have over-indulged and eaten a few too many mince pies, so you might be looking to lose a couple of pounds at the beginning of 2016. Luckily, the region has a number of one-off and regular events on offer to help you beat the fat this January! Here’s a selection of some of them:

Dance City Classes and Workshops

Throughout the year, Dance City have a range of events for all abilities in a variety of dance styles to suit everyone. From tap and yoga to ballet and salsa, there’s a style to suit everyone. They’ve even got pilates and classes specially designed for children, pregnant women and the over-55s. If you’re looking to have fun while getting fit then there’s no better place to be!

Ice Skating @ Life Science Centre

Ice skating in Newcastle’s Times Square has become a Christmas staple, with hundreds of people enjoying the skating experience. While taking a quick turn around the rink may not be the most strenuous workout you can have, it’s one of the most fun – especially with friends and family – and all that balancing and trying to keep yourself upright will have you working out your core muscles in no time!

Visit the Life Science Centre website for more details.

Dance and Yoga for Adults @ Arts Centre Washington

Each week the Arts Centre in Washington puts on a variety of activities that are specifically adults-only where you can learn new skills or take part in some exercise. This year they’re continuing their weekly programme of yoga, as well as hosting sessions in salsa, Latin and ballroom dancing that will help you become as light on your feet as the stars of Strictly.
