Under the Dome presents 17 days of creative mayhem in Whitley Bay, with storytelling, comedy, music, dance and drama.
There’s a strong folk theme running through this year’s festival. Local acts and dance teams will be appearing alongside many big names from the national circuit. One particular highlight is going to be the very wonderful Lucy Ward on Saturday 26th July, with support from local duo Another Penny.
The Spanish City Dome may still be undergoing construction work, to restore it to its former glory, however organisers have overcome this little problem by erecting an inflatable Dome not far from the iconic site.
Fringe events will also be taking place in nearby venues, including a Festival revue from Brendan Healy – the master of Geordie humour – taking place at PLAYHOUSE Whitley Bay on Friday 31 July.
