Northumberland Live
A fantastic day of free family entertainment returns for its second year at Blyth Beach with two chart-topping headline acts.
Northumberland Live has confirmed that chart-toppers Toploader and Doctor and The Medics will headline this year’s festival along with a host of amazing local acts.
Toploader had a huge hit with their first album, Onka’s Big Moka, which was released in 2000. It sold over one million copies and remained in the Top 5 of the UK Albums Chart for over six months. They were the last British band to play the original Wembley Stadium and their cover of King Harvest’s US hit ‘Dancing in the Moonlight’ became a global success for the band.
Local bands will also share the bill and a talent contest will be launched offering musicians from Northumberland a chance to perform on the big stage alongside the headliners.
As well as the music there is also going to be street theatre to keep children (and their parents) entertained. Meanwhile, locally-based food suppliers will showcase the best local Northumberland produce.
