The Mouth of the Tyne Festival
The Mouth of the Tyne Festival returns this July and will feature a four-day celebration of live music, world-class street theatre and special one-off performances expected to attract around 90,000 people.
The highlights of the event are the ticketed concerts at Tynemouth Priory and Castle – an English Heritage property. This year’s performers include; Beautiful South founder Paul Heaton and long time band singer Jacqui Abbott, British ska legends The Specials and Martha Reeves and the Vandellas.
PLAYHOUSE Whitley Bay will also feature concerts from singer songwriter Jack Savoretti and rising local stars Lisbon.
There will also be a programme of free street entertainment, special performances in Tynemouth Station and a children’s pageant.
