When:13th-14th August 2016
Where: The Exchange, North Shields
Ran by the ‘print only’ magazine Harvest from the Deep, which focuses its efforts on music, art, fashion, sport and culture, this new two-day festival is bringing some of the best bands from the region and beyond to The Exchange in North Shields. The former Victorian police station and magistrates court has a main auditorium with balcony seating and a large screen that’s the perfect setting for this extravaganza. A second stage will be set within the main auditorium’s bar area, and the intimate Thomas Brown Room will hold a specialised area for collectors of vinyl records and memorabilia.
The first ever Harvest from the Deep festival will welcome Brit rockers British Sea Power to the event – they’ll be playing their stunning soundtrack to the documentary From the Sea to the Land Beyond. The region’s own Warm Digits will also be playing their mix of electronica and krautrock.
There’s a whole host of North East talent on display across the two days too. There will be sets from the legendary Pauline Murray (frontwoman of punk icons Penetration), critically acclaimed singer-songwriters Richard Dawson and The Lake Poets, as well as a host of up and coming bands. The Pale White, The Middens, Coquin Migale, Keep Breathing, Nev Clay, The Horse Loom and more will be showcasing their talents.
Tickets cost £30 for the full weekend or £17.50 for one day.
