The Festival of Thrift

The UK’s national celebration of sustainable living, the Festival of Thrift, will take place 10am – 5pm on 26 & 27 September at Lingfield Point, Darlington.

A world first, this hugely popular, award-winning festival will be filled with nationally known scrimpers, leading and emerging artists, music, performances, making, fixing, demonstrations, debates and workshops helping us all towards a happier, more sustainable way of living.

Fabulous food and stalls selling all manner of upcycled, recycled, sustainable and of course thrifty goods. Specifically designed with families in mind. Come along, dive in and learn the fun way to be thrifty, benefitting your pocket and the environment.

This year will feature special installations and hands on activities celebrating the 190th anniversary of another world first: the first passenger rail journey between Stockton and Darlington.
