When: 6th August 2016
Where: Chase Park, Gateshead
Chase Park Festival returns with a bang in Gateshead’s Whickham area this August! The one day music extravaganza is back and better than ever, with mighty cult 2000s band Reverend and the Makers headlining this year’s event. The band are best known for their smash hit ‘Heavyweight Champion of the World’ but also have an extensive catalogue of top indie tunes. They’re joined by Stornoway, an amazing folk-pop band who have more than a few bangers up their sleeve. Ben Ottewell, frontman of the Mercury Prize-nominated Gomez, will also be playing some tunes.
There’s also a range of top local talent on the bill. Former Futureheads frontman Barry Hyde is set to play songs from his acclaimed debut solo album, alongside his Malody Ensemble. The Cornshed Sisters bring their luscious harmonies to the event, while singer-songwriter Jake Houlsby will delight the audience with his beautiful classical guitar. Raising awareness of disabilities, The Soundbeam Band will be breaking down barriers, and rising R&B outfit SoShe will kick off the day.
Tickets cost £9 for general admission, while a family ticket (2 adults, 2 children) costs £22.
People with disabilities and children under 5 can enter for free!
