BRASS is back in July 2016 and it promises to be the brassiest yet as Durham’s annual festival celebrates its 10th anniversary. With outdoor extravaganzas, brasstastic collaborations and even its own fringe events programme.

The Hot 8 Brass Band
New Orleans’ premier purveyors of jazz-infused funk and hip hop marching band music, Hot 8 Brass Band return to BRASS as part of their 10th anniversary celebrations. Following their recent Grammy nomination for their striking second album, The Life & Times of …The Hot 8 Brass Band.

Back for 2016 and bigger and better than ever! With a different funky beat on every corner, Streets of BRASS brings Durham City to life with 2 full days of free live entertainment. We have 13 bands performing this year – guaranteeing to have something for everyone.
The Fairey Brass Band
Founded in 1937, the Band has been National Champions of Great Britain on 9 occasions and had victories at the European Championships, the All England Masters and the English Nationals.
